What I liked were: absurd paintings, pictures over doorways, stage sets, carnival backdrops, billboards, bright-colored prints, old-fashioned literature, church Latin, erotic books full of misspellings, the kind of novels our grandmothers read, fairy tales, little children's books, old operas, silly old songs, the naive rhythms of country rimes. One more problem is that you need to own an iPhone to send messages from an iPad using the traditional mobile network method. Still, unfortunately, they won’t work unless you own an Apple device, which is a disadvantage for non-Apple users. The Messages app developed by Apple has far more features. Look, plenty of basketball was played on Tuesday and will continue to be played on Wednesday, Thursday, and so on. Charania noted that the team would do its due diligence on Udoka - who was suspended for the 2022-23 season by the Celtics for an improper relationship with a subordinate - but hardly an hour had passed before both Charania and Woj reported that a deal for Udoka to coach the Nets was all but done. Jacque Vaughn was immediately named Brooklyn’s acting head coach, but within the hour, both Shams Charania and Adrian Wojnarowski had reported that the Nets may hire suspended Boston Celtics’ head coach Ime Udoka as Nash’s replacement. Leave a comment below or take a photo and tag me on Instagram or Twitter with #foodiecrusheats. The Best Margarita Recipe – Truly the absolute BEST margaritas we’ve ever tasted! These easy homemade margaritas are tangy, slightly sweet, and complex in flavor. But I added a little simple syrup juuuuust to sweeten it up a little bit. Joey’s recipe didn’t call for a sweetener, because this is a margarita, not a daiquiri. You can find coconut cream at Asian stores or online here. Coconut cream can coagulate in the can so be sure to stir it well and discard any chunks that don’t smooth out. The coconut cream gives the drink a more intense coconut flavor and creamy texture. You might feel you can skip the coconut cream and go just with coconut milk for this recipe, but I say don’t do it. If you’re not into oak, try Patron Silver instead. Reposado tequila imparts citrus and honey notes with a bit of earthiness after being barrelled in oak. I use Patron’s reposado tequila in this cocktail recipe. Sadly, I had to cancel my trip thanks to a medical procedure but that didn’t stop me from indulging in a few of these in homage to my waylaid trip. I originally planned on sharing this Coconut Margarita recipe when I hosted a photography session at this year’s Click Retreat as we cruised about the Caribbean. My friend Joey-a mixologist and the new co-owner of Grim’s Provisions and Spirits in Seattle’s Capitol Hill (be on the look for an amazing revamp)-introduced this recipe to me. But one favorite concoction of Patron-infused drinks has stuck out from the bunch-this one because it’s the best coconut margarita recipe. ![]() Since then I’ve had my fair share of tequila drinks. The railway trip left me with some amazing memories and a true affinity for the finer side of life (private trains, planes and automobiles!), including a penchant for sipping tequila whether it’s on, or off, the train. We spent most of the trip gazing at the ocean as we rattled through stations, sipping Patron tequila over ice, and in margaritas with a recipe closely guarded by the Patron team-aka fresh lime juice and Patron reposado-and laughing, laughing, laughing with friends brought together due to our love of animals and the countless hours spent finding them loving homes. One step in and you know you’ll never set foot in such a space again. The Patron Tequila Express is known for it’s extravagance and is decked out in the opulence that once decorated the original 14th century Maharajah’s palace, with marble bathrooms, lavish sleeping quarters and a gourmet kitchen. The mantra of the trip? All aboard the Patron train and break out the tequila. Long story short, after a heated battle that drove the price up, up and up, DeJoria called the live auction and my friends Bart and Stacy (he’s the hugger in the flowered shirt above, she’s the brunette beauty by his side) bought themselves a train ride.Īnd they invited friends! And my husband and I were two of them. The ride would be in John Paul DeJoria’s private train car hitched on the tail of an Amtrak train traveling from Los Angeles to San Diego and then back the next day. The big ticket item of the night’s live auction was an overnight trip aboard The Patron Tequila Express. The night was warm, it was fuzzy, and it was soooo L.A., complete with a papparzzi-studded red carpet, celebrity appearances (oh the stories we could tell and such a good thing that social media didn’t exist, yet) and lots of money that was generously raised for homeless animals. Lucky me, I know people who are very generous and invited me and my husband along for the ride. This train was owned by self-made billionaire John Paul DeJoria, founder of John Paul Mitchell and Patron Spirits, and was deemed by DeJoria as, “the favorite of my 13 homes.” But unlike those other homes from New York to Hawaii, this one just happened to be powered by an Amtrak steam engine. Sure, I’d been on trains before, but nothing prepared me for this ride of a lifetime. I also knew that the public needed to wear masks during the performance and that it was necessary to wear comfortable clothes and shoes as well. Another fact that I knew is that it was an immersive experience and, by immersion, what I knew was that you have to follow the cast members. ![]() The following three paragraphs will reference this very high-quality rendering of the Origami King battlefield. The two games present different types of challenges, and today I want to highlight the ways in which The Origami King uses the new ring battle system to present compelling puzzles with their own mechanical richness to enjoy. This game does not have mechanical depth in the same way that The Thousand-Year Door does but that doesn’t mean it lacks depth entirely. All signs pointed to The Origami King being a simpler Paper Mario experience.ĭuring my time with The Origami King, I pretty consistently found myself pleasantly surprised by the complexity the battle system could bring to the table. And while the weapon system seemed to promise a variety of attacks, the accessory system didn’t look promising as far as adding the deep level of customization possible with badges. Partners were present but only attacked at random rather than being under the control of the player. Would Origami King be able to manage this same level of depth?Īs information came out about the game the answer seemed more and more to lean towards “no.” The lack of experience points pointed towards an inability to grow Mario as a character. At their best, these games made you stop and think about how you approached each battle and encouraged you to experiment with different badges to form the strategy that worked best for you. These systems used badge customization to give you lots of control over Mario’s stats and abilities, had partners with unique movesets to manage alongside Mario, and utilized enemy positioning and weapons to create situations where different attacks were needed to defeat the opponent. ![]() One of the biggest concerns among the Paper Mario fandom leading up to The Origami King was whether or not the battle system would have the depth of the original Paper Mario or The Thousand-Year Door. |
